Are you a key worker? Would you like your bike checked over for free to make sure it is in good working order? Cycle instructor Andy Litchfield from Kingston Council will be fixing key workers bikes at Surbiton Health Centre from 11.30am to 2.30pm tomorrow (Tuesday).

Dr Bike will be in the car park at the health centre off Ewell Road, providing bike check-ups for the staff and other key workers.

This follows very successful Dr Bike sessions at Kingston Hospital and Tolworth Hospital where bikes were checked and serviced.

If you are a key worker who cycles to work, you can also book a mobile Dr Bike, or ask the team to come to your workplace to do the checks.

Visit the council’s website here to find out more and to book.

Kingston Council is also offering a mobile Dr Bike service too.

“As a response to the Covid-19 crisis, we are trying to help people cycle to work or to make journeys as a safe way to travel and as a way to relieve pressure on other forms of transport,” said Andy Litchfield. “If you have a bike that needs some minor repairs such as mending a puncture or adjusting brakes and gears, then it’s quite likely that we can put your bike on the road again.

“This mobile service would take place near your address or place of work. You or someone else on your behalf would either come out to deliver the bike to us or use a combination lock if you can’t return on time.”

If you would like to hold a Dr Bike session at your school or workplace email [email protected] to find out more.
