Can you tell a leg bye from a bye and a no ball from a dead ball? If so, Long Ditton Cricket Club would like to hear from you. The club in Stokes Field off Betts Way, Long Ditton, is looking for a new umpire to officiate its matches.

“We are looking for a new Saturday League umpire for our 1st XI Saturday fixtures following Sir Ian Foulds’ retirement at the end of last season,” said LDCC member, James Mumford who said some previous umpiring experience or qualifications would be good, but not essential.

The season usually runs from May to September.

The newly promoted side, which was due to play in the Surrey Championship this season before the coronavirus lockdown put paid to play, is still hoping that matches will start at some stage this summer.
