We won’t have the scheduled farmers’ market in Maple Road this Saturday, as organisers work to resolve social distancing issues… BUT there’s an alternative activity that sums up the spirit of Surbiton’s popular monthly event.
Market volunteers host a pop-up drop-off foodbank collection point outside Gordon Bennett! at the corner of Maple and Cleaveland, to support local people who are struggling to put a meal on the table.
Open this Saturday – June 20 – from 10am to noon, it will gather donations for Kingston Foodbank to supply basics to locals in crisis during these exceptional times.
Please bring along any items… but especially tinned fruit and fish, rice pud, custard, fruit squash, cereals, long-life fruit juice, biscuits and instant mash.
