New co-chairs for Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee

Alison Holt (left) and Anita Schaper have been elected to co-chair the Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee for the new municipal year. Both have been councillors since 2018: Cllr Holt for Surbiton Hill and Cllr Schaper for Berrylands. Cllr Holt was previously Kingston Council’s portfolio holder for Finance from 2018-19 and for Finance & Contracts from 2019-20.

Cllr Holt was previously Kingston Council’s portfolio holder for Finance from 2018-19 and for Finance & Contracts from 2019-20.

Cllr Schaper has been the chair of the Health Overview Panel since 2018.

The Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee is responsible for decisions on planning applications and highways in the area, grants, and other place-based functions including the management of public parks and community halls and engagement with local residents, businesses, campaign groups and voluntary and community sector organisations.

Since lockdown in March the committee, which usually meets at Glenmore House in The Crescent, Surbiton, has been holding meetings online, live-streaming them here at www.kingston.public-i.tv/core/portal/home. Meetings can also be watched afterwards at www.youtube.com/user/KingstonCouncil

The committee’s next scheduled online meeting is a provisional one for planning applications only – on Thursday, September 17 at 7.30pm.
