Surbitonians were spoilt for choice for what presents to buy their relatives and friends when two pop-up markets featuring handmade products from local artisans and creatives made their Christmas shopping conundrums a lot easier yesterday (Sunday).
Hair stylist Andrew Thompson threw open the door of Salon No 13 in Victoria Road for free to small independent businesses who have been having a hard time during the pandemic to set up their stalls.
Soakind featuring talented Silke Johns and her eye-catching handmade soaps and bath bombs (top picture), and That’s Sew Phee with Phoebe Fleetham’s attractive bespoke face masks and gifts, were just two of the independents showcasing their work.
And the Halloumi Bite van, the Long Ditton based food truck, was parked behind the salon to feed any hungry shoppers.
Over in Tolworth Sarah Richardson, pictured, of The Place to Make (hand-poured, organic aromatherapy candles and jewellery) had organised a pop-up in The Broadway Bar with local events organiser The Community Brain.
Two of the 15 independents featured included Sally Davies of Chasing Tigers (wallet, purse and bag designer), and Jo Corney of Madame Made This (bespoke lettering and card specialist).
