cornerHOUSE arts centre welcomes your New Year poem

Write a poem to welcome in the New Year and submit it to The cornerHOUSE to be featured on the arts centre’s website. Your poem should be about what the New Year means to you either by reflecting on the past 12 months (I’m sure we’ve all got rather a lot to say about that!),

Write a poem to welcome in the New Year and submit it to The cornerHOUSE to be featured on the arts centre’s website.

Your poem should be about what the New Year means to you either by reflecting on the past 12 months (I’m sure we’ve all got rather a lot to say about that!), or by looking forward to the next or a bit on both. It should also be no more than 12 lines long.

“Capture what this moment means to you as we leave one year to embark on another,” said Nicky Newberry, arts programme co-ordinator at the centre in Douglas Road, Surbiton. “It’s a short poem with a short timescale and we would like to have these on the cornerHOUSE website before the end of January while we are still welcoming the new year in.

“This also might be your first poem, so just give it a go.”

If you prefer to remain anonymous, that is fine too, just make that clear when you send in your poem.

All entries should be submitted by end of play on Friday, January 15 to Nicky at [email protected]
