Stuck deciding what to buy mum for Mother’s Day this coming Sunday?

Why not give her a cookbook of fabulous recipes courtesy of the parents and children at two local schools?

It’s also a chunk of lockdown history too.

The Friends of Long Ditton St Mary’s Infants and Junior Schools have created a Lockdown LOVE Cookbook which pulls together favourite recipes which families have been cooking and baking while spending most of the time at home during the pandemic.

There are also tasty contributions from 14 local businesses, plus a recipe which has been handed down through the generations since 1884!

“With over 100 family recipes from both school communities and a few from our favourite local restaurants too, this is not just the definitive lockdown cookbook but a piece of history!” said Desirèe Harris, chair of the Friends of the infant school in Ditton Hill Road.

“When your grandchildren ask what you did in the Covid pandemic, you’ll not only be able to say ‘baked banana bread and drank cocktails’ but recreate the exact tastes!

“With Mother’s Day approaching, what better gift than a book, not only chock-full of yummy recipes but one bursting with love as well?”

Buy your wedge of history for £20, or get two copies for £35. For more details on this school fundraiser or to order visit https://forms.gle/AbUHv3ogXCRbec6s7
