Budding young filmmakers have the opportunity to show their work at a new Kingston-based film festival. But get going as your applications need to be in this Friday.

The young creatives will have a chance to showcase their work to an audience on the big screen in front of an industry panel at the Rose Theatre in Kingston this summer.

“Across the globe there are many film festivals throughout the year, but few who have a true focus on young emerging film makers,” said the festival’s marketing director Charlotte Levy.

“The International Youth Arts Film Festival is here to provide an affordable platform for young film makers to get one of their first experiences of a film festival.”

There are three categories for applications: Films Under 5 Minutes, Short Film Category (10-15 mins) and International Film Category.

At least one member of the creative team in each application must be under 27.

The winners of each category will be announced at a special awards ceremony in July after a day of screenings.

Apply before Friday, March 26 at 5pm.
