Look who is going to be greeting children as they arrive at the Palm Sunday service at St Mark’s Church tomorrow!

“Usually, we can have donkey rides after the service, but this year, for Covid regulations, we can’t offer that: nor can we do a procession,” said Rev Robert Stanier. “However, we will be incorporating the donkey into the service when we go outside. It is very much aimed at children and families with young children.”

The service at the church on St Mark’s Hill, Surbiton, will start at 9.15am and last half an hour. It will focus on the story of Jesus arriving in Jerusalem on a donkey and its meaning in relation to what happens during Holy Week leading up to Easter.

There will also be the chance to meet Erica (or one of her siblings) after the service.

Turn up in good time and you may be able to get seats for this socially distanced service.

There will also be an 11am Palm Sunday Parish Eucharist which will mainly appeal to adults with Bible readings and a full sermon. You can watch via Zoom or Facebook Live.

Visit the church’s website www.surbitonchurch.org.uk/services/calendar for details of these services plus others available during this special week.
