Part Man. Part Tree. Meet Arbor.

Follow the 18ft puppet as he strides around, vanishing behind branches in Canbury Gardens and emerging with a cartful of seeds.

Arbor tells the story of a tree pushed from his home and his fight to preserve his future.

Encouraging the audience to plant and nurture their own, each member of the audience will be given some seeds to take home, leaving a legacy that will last for generations.

Created by award-winning puppetry and theatre company Smoking Apples, Arbor is a visually stunning show with lots of cute puppets.

Performances at different times on the main stage in Canbury Gardens, Kingston, on July 10 and 11. For details visit www.rosetheatre.org/whats-on/arbor-the-tree/book-tickets

Arbor is one of 20 events being staged this year by Kingston’s International Youth Arts Festival which launches tomorrow (Friday) and runs until July 11.

The festival, which showcases young creative talent, will also stage Lost in Translation’s Hotel Paradiso, a former hit of the Edinburgh Fringe. This family-friendly production blends spectacular circus skills, physical comedy and theatrical storytelling into a colourful, loud and hilarious show (Rose Theatre, July 9-11).
