READ ALL ABOUT IT! Tim Harrison, editor of The Good Life, will be talking about Surbiton’s community newspaper at the cornerHOUSE arts centre this Thursday (23rd) at 7.45pm ahead of its 10th anniversary year.

Tim will also be delving into the extraordinary history of Tolworth’s Toby Jug pub, and signing copies of his new book Hello Tolworth, I’m Ziggy which tells the story of that famous night in 1972 when David Bowie launched his Ziggy Stardust character, of the numerous big-name bands who played there, of the spies who met in the bar to trade Britain’s nuclear secrets to the Russians, and where a 54-year-old Freddie Lennon (John Lennon’s dad) proposed to a Surbiton teenager.

The talk – and the book – are packed full of amazing information about Tolworth’s intriguing 1930s roadhouse.

Tickets are £4 and all proceeds go to the arts centre in Douglas Road, Surbiton.
