Surbiton is to become a 20mph zone.

Councillors voted unanimously at a Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee meeting this week to introduce the new speed limit across the area – even in main roads like Ewell Road, Upper Brighton Road and Portsmouth Road.

The Traffic Management Order will come into effect in mid January, with work on painting the new road markings and installing the 20mph signs done in a phased approach over a four to six-week period.
