Congratulations to Susan Telbis who is 100 today!
Susan, of Lovelace Road, Surbiton, was treated to a slap up lunch at the Alfriston Day Centre in Berrylands Road, followed by a delicious birthday cake made by friend Catherine Reay (pictured centre).
The centenarian, who amazingly climbs 39 steps to her second floor flat where she has been living since 1971, had enough puff to blow out all the candles on her cake in one go!
Asked the secret of her longevity and good health she replied: “Having the right genes, I think.”
Along with flowers and gifts from friends and well-wishers, Susan, originally from Hungary, received a telegram and card from the Queen.
More in the next Good Life out soon.
