The Berrylands Festival, the hugely popular annual village fete event, runs from noon to 4pm at the old Surbiton Lagoon site, Stirling Walk.

Highlights include bouncy castles, coconut shys, crockery smashing, pig racing, competitions, live music, performances from local community groups, a BBQ, food and drink stalls, and a bar with beer provided by Park Brewery.

While you’re there, take the chance to tell the council what you think. Council officers will be listening to your views about your neighbourhood, local services, ideas for the area, or anything else you would like to discuss.

It’s all part of the borough’s celebration of Communities Month, shining a spotlight on neighbourhoods, local charities, volunteering and connecting with others.

It includes a three-day inaugural Pride festival in Kingston from Fri, June 26 to Sun, June 28, Communities Awards on Mon, June 29 celebrating the contribution of volunteers, and a Sanctuary Award, which acknowledges the council’s commitment to being a welcoming borough and supporting those seeking refuge.
