Starting on Thursday September 3, and every Thursday afternoon through the month, the Surbiton station forecourt will be closed to traffic and taxis so that Surbiton’s Town Centre Partnership can host a ‘Celebrate Surbiton’ market.

It starts at 4.30pm and continues until 8pm, with a variety of stalls and entertainments. It’s free. If successful, there could be more.

“We’ll have food stalls on four consecutive Thursdays,” confirmed Robin Hutchinson from the Partnership. “It’s to test the space. Often one of the hardest things for people to grasp is change; you have to demonstrate it.”
