Surbiton’s beautiful Hogsmill river is the topic for borough biodiversity officer Dr Georgina Fauconier’s talk to the Kingston Society.

She’ll talk about the wildlife and the work taking place to protect and restore the natural environment. Dr Fauconier has a scientific background in aquatic ecology and river systems and previously worked with the South East Rivers Trust, giving her first-hand experience of the Hogsmill catchment and the pressures it faces.

Projects range from river restoration and water-quality work to wetland creation, wildlife monitoring, habitat improvement and partnerships with conservation groups and local volunteers.
