Robin Hutchinson, figurehead of the Surbiton-based Community Brain, will give a talk to the Friends of Kingston Museum about a recent project – celebrating 60 years of award-winning fashion at Kingston School of Art.

The talk will be at Kingston Museum’s upper room at 6.30pm.

The project used the 60th anniversary of Kingston School of Art students winning the Youth Fashion Design Competition in St Gall, Switzerland, to look at the story of fashion locally. Under the tutorage of Daphne Brooker, the students won first prize on three separate occasions, in 1965, 1966, and 1970.

Community Brain delivered a year-long programme of events including fashion shows and exhibitions, with help from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
