It’s a promising start to a hectic seven days, with another two away fixtures at Bristol and Everton to come… making it four aways on the trot.
Playing in yellow, Chelsea were a changed side from the one that beat Sarajevo out in Bosnia last week. Keeper Lizzie Durack made her debut, while the back four was Maria Thorisdottir, Deanna Cooper, Jade Bailey and Jess Carter.
Adelina Engman struck first for the Blues after 10 minutes, but it was an eight-minute spell in the second half that really made the Eagles take flight.
Beth England scored twice, either side of a Drew Spence goal, to put the game beyond doubt at Bromley’s ground.
Despite only being formed in the summer, Crystal Palace Ladies were the only other side in Chelsea’s Continental Tyres League Cup group with two wins out of two going into last weekend’s game.
Chelsea are now three points ahead of Spurs, who defeated Yeovil Town 4-0, in Group One South. In the other group game, Brighton beat London Bees 3-1.
