In-form Karen Carney, the Chelsea Women captain, has been called up to the England squad after super Fran Kirby was forced to withdraw.
Also in the Lionesses squad, which faces Austria away on November 8 and Sweden at home on Remembrance Sunday, is Man City’s Mel Lawley, in as a replacement for her team-mate Keira Walsh.
Walsh and Kirby both picked up slight knocks during weekend action for City and Chelsea, and have returned to their clubs as a precautionary measure for assessment and some TLC.
Since making her debut in 2005, Carney has earned 134 caps.
Having made 37 appearances at youth level, Lawley broke into the senior team just over a year ago and will be hoping to add to her nine caps to date.
