The weather has put paid to this afternoon’s (Saturday) Seething Festival.
St Andrew’s Square, the focus of the event, is a quagmire.
Organisers, the Community Brain, yesterday reluctantly cancelled the festivities with its stalls, food, live music and charity bar.
“Yesterday we made the decision to cancel the Seething Festival today as St Andrew’s Square was already saturated even before this rain. Coupled with the sad loss of the procession we regretfully made this decision,” said organiser Robin Hutchinson.
The grand procession through Surbiton had already been cancelled.
This free community event was due to celebrate its 11th year.
