You’ll be seeing more hanging baskets around shopping parades in Surbiton this summer, thanks to a community grant from the Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee.

Chiltern Drive, Ewell Road and Berrylands Road will get six, 16 and five respectively plus brackets to fix the baskets to street lights.

Each hanging basket costs £77 and each bracket costs £34. Once in place, the brackets will be able to be used time and again.

Other streets which will receive the hanging basket treatment – but which already have brackets – are Victoria Road, pictured, (30), Claremont Road (16), Brighton Road/St Mark’s Hill (20) and Tolworth Broadway (19).

£2,997 of community grant programme funding will be added to £6,545 of councillor ward funding to pay for the extra baskets.
