Is this the new ‘normal’ in Surbiton? The queue waiting to get into the Iceland supermarket in Tolworth Broadway was 40-strong through the morning, and these days every time a food shop opens its doors there’s an eager group of customers waiting to pounce.
Jennings (no sausages any longer) was doing its best to cope, but all the staff were exhausted after a hectic week, and looking forward to their Sunday/Monday closure, to catch up and revive.
Thanks to coronavirus, the instruction on the butcher’s shop window reminded queuers to keep two metres apart and only enter the shop in ones and twos.
