Garden festivals and flower shows may have been cancelled left right and centre, but Tolworth is blazing a trail with its very own online show.
The Tolworth Garden Festival, organised by The Community Brain, celebrates all that is best (and oddest!) in growing – with a chance to win £300 worth of prizes!
“Over the last few months the importance and value of ‘growing’ and gardening has taken on extra significance for so many,” said organiser Robin Hutchinson. “People who have never had ‘green fingers’ have suddenly found the urge to plant and tend.
“From a single pot to ambitious plans for gardens, people have found comfort and joy in green activities during lockdown.
“But it hasn’t just brought joy to them, it has also brought beauty to many on their daily exercise.”
Robin said the Tolworth-based community group wanted to celebrate all things green and beautiful in the borough with the Tolworth Garden Festival 2020.
“It’s so simple to take part,” he added.
Categories include best container or pot plant, best outdoor planting, best upcycled garden DIY, young gardeners (U10 & 11-16), oddest homegrown fruit and veg and, last but not least, best greenery seen whilst on daily exercise.
Your photograph or videos of your festival entry will be accepted up until midnight on Sunday, June 28.
