In a vote of confidence in Tolworth Broadway’s long-term future, a branch of Cake Box – the calorific treat shop for those with egg allergies – has opened.
The new shop is part of a chain which prides itself on being vegetarian and egg-free, and now occupies the former religious bookshop Refresh, on the tower side of the street.
Cake Box has 140 franchised branches, selling cakes with personalised handwritten messages added while you stand and watch. It also sells by the slice.
Purple-fronted, and sandwiched between Pizza GoGo and Superfish on the Broadway, the 1,000sq ft shop has a courtyard garden area at the back.
There’s no on-site baking – everything is transported in. Deliveries available.
