Felicity Kendal, star of the hit 1970s sitcom The Good Life which put Surbiton on everyone’s radar, will be launching the St Andrew’s and St Mark’s virtual Christmas auction.
Those who attend on Zoom on Saturday (December 12) at 2pm, will see Felicity, who played Barbara Good in the show about suburban self-sufficiency, declare the auction open.
The event is a fundraiser for the churches in Maple Road and St Mark’s Hill.
Curate Michael Johns-Perring said: “The auction catalogue is available on the church website for people to view lots which currently include art by local artists, experiences from local businesses, wine tasting and more besides. There will also be an online cake sale.”
The catalogue explains how the auction will work: how to join via Zoom, how to make bids, how to pay for your bids and to collect your bids. Visit www.surbitonchurch.org.uk/going-going-gone
To attend the auction get in touch with the church office by emailing [email protected] or by phoning 020 8390 9129.
The start of the auction, when Felicity will do the honours, may also be live-streamed on the churches’ Facebook page at www.facebook.com/SurbitonChurch
Felicity is pictured above with her on-screen husband Tom Good, played by the late Richard Briers.
