Singer and health care assistant Jodie Halls entertained the residents of Surbiton’s Royal Star & Garter Home with songs to celebrate Burns Night yesterday (Monday).
The veterans at the home in Upper Brighton Road, also enjoyed a traditional Burns Supper – including haggis, neeps, tatties and a dram or two of whisky to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Scottish poet and National Bard Robert (known as Rabbie) Burns (January 25, 1759 to July 21, 1796) who famously wrote The Address to a Haggis.
The home cares for ex-servicemen and women and their partners living with disability or dementia.
