One of the least publicised local public inquiries got underway this morning – the examination of plans to build two more tower blocks in Tolworth Broadway to go alongside the original 1960s Tolworth Tower.
It began at 10am on Tuesday, with no fanfare and only a complex notice in the local paper to alert residents, with impenetrable instructions about how to follow proceedings.
“It’s almost as if they don’t want people to know,” one Surbiton resident commented.
As a result, access to the inquiry is very difficult to track down, despite the inspector’s investigation supposedly being ‘public’.
Cllr Alison Holt, who chairs Surbiton’s neighbourhood committee, has told the inspector, during the initial introduction section, that she opposes the project.
After much casting around the council’s website and You Tube, we’re tracked the inquiry down. To follow it, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zO2GhEmzC4
