Location, Location, Location. Great river views, 62 workstations, a board room, five stand-alone offices, two Zoom pods, super-fast wi-fi, business and admin support, bottomless tea and coffee, a café, showers… and a spot right in the heart of Kingston – even Kirstie Allsopp would be impressed.

Town Square Spaces Kingston, a new workspace and enterprise hub, has opened on the ground floor of John Lewis, right on the river, and is designed to give local people the help they need to start and grow their businesses. At the moment you can take advantage of a five-day trial for just £1 a day.

As well as one-to-one support, the TownSq team, operating the hub on behalf of Kingston Council, offers mentoring and business workshops – online, webinars, in-person talks and networking – and it’s open round the clock, seven days a week (useful if you are dealing with businesses across different time zones) and has varying membership options.

Hub manager Ryan Gough (pictured above), a proud Kingstonian, who was delighted to welcome the community to its launch party, said: “We’ve already had a lot of interest from local freelancers and small businesses looking for affordable workspace, so we’re delighted to open our doors for the first time.

“I’d encourage anyone with an idea or a desire to start their own business to come and take a look at our space. We can offer support to anyone in the early stages of their business; from the teams looking to collaborate with others, to the individual with a promising idea who can’t quite quit their day job yet – we can help.”

The new co-working space, which was opened by the mayor of Kingston, Liz Green, is delivered in partnership with the BIG South London programme, an initiative to unlock knowledge-based economic growth in the area.,
