Actress Rea Mole is raising funds for a film about grief which is to be shot and screened at the cornerHOUSE arts centre in Surbiton where she performed as a child.
Rea, who grew up in Ellerton Road and who went to Tolworth Girls’ School, has written Starlight, a short film which explores grief through finding a way back home.
The film and stage actress was motivated by the death of her father, Surbiton Bun Shop (now Brave New World) pub landlord Ian Mole, to create the film.
She hopes to partner with charities which offer bereavement support giving people a way to access support networks – as well as show Starlight at film festivals.
“I hope it will resonate with audiences, helping to reduce isolation for those who are living with grief and ease the taboo of talking about it,” she said.
