Would you know the most popular meat in the world, whether a peregrine falcon can fly at 240mph or which is the largest organ in the human body? The Humphrey and Brand quiz night returns for a second round this Saturday evening – May 9 – hosted by quizmaster Pete Tague, pictured.
More than 60 families competed in the last Saturday night Zoom quiz, with the Claremont Road estate agent generously donating £200 to the charity chosen by the winners.
Another £200 charity donation will be in the gift of this Saturday’s winning team. To enter, simply email [email protected] or send the organisers a message via Instagram or Facebook to sign up. Questions start at 8pm.
“The last quiz night was a great success, and it’s back this Saturday by popular demand,” said sales director Craig Custance. “The first quiz was won by the Keysports team, and they donated their £200 to Momentum, the Kingston Hospital charity supporting children with cancer and life-challenging conditions.”
The answers, by the way. Pork, yes (the fastest recorded speed was 242mph), and skin!
And if you want to warm up your braincells ahead of Saturday, tonight – Tuesday – sees the return of the Black Lion pub quiz, with singing landlord Mark Sheehy continuing to experiment with crooning the questions in the music round… whether or not it assists the competitors! The quiz starts at 7pm, nearly 30 teams competed last week, and to be invited to join, either send a message to the Black Lion’s Instagram or email [email protected]
