Theatres may be decimated at the moment because of COVID-19 restrictions but the cornerHOUSE in Surbiton is determined that the show must go on.

The arts centre in Douglas Road is staging a new play, Make-up, by Andy Moseley of NoLogoProductions on Thursday (October 1).

Lady Christina (Moj Taylor) is finding her life performing as a drag queen night after night in yet another room above another pub is dispiriting. This could well be her last show. But past and present collide as she starts to take off the make-up to find her father’s features reflected in the face she sees in the mirror.

It’s a reminder of all the reasons why Christopher Laneghan invited Christina into his life, and maybe the thing that keeps her alive.

Andy, writer of the cornerHOUSE oneACT hits Are You Lonesome Tonight? Going for Gold and Little Grains of Sand, and actor and comedian Moj, will be hosting a Q&A session after the show which runs from 8-9pm.

Make-up was due to be performed in May but due to lockdown has been postponed until now.

Capacity is limited to 40 due to social distancing measures. All tickets must be booked in advance at www.wegottickets.com/event/493489. Tickets cost £8.80 including booking fee.
