Chelsea’s Korean midfielder Ji So-Yun will become the first non-Brit to reach 100 appearances in the Women’s Super League if she’s selected on Sunday lunchtime for the London derby against West Ham… in front of real fans once again.

In all, 700 supporters are being allowed into Kingsmeadow, each having to fill in a two-side Covid declaration form, be temperature-checked, show a driving licence or passport as ID, wear a facemask throughout the match and have a valid printed-out ticket.

Spectators must stay seated, use sanitiser every few paces, wear masks throughout the game, ‘cover your mouth if you sneeze’ (I kid you not) and steer clear of hugs and high-fives. They are also being told to ‘take extreme care’ when shouting, singing or celebrating.

Ji, who passed 150 total appearances for the Blues last season, will reach the 100 Barclay’s Women’s Super League match milestone and join 28 English footballers, four Welsh and two Scots who are also ‘centurians’.

The gifted playmaker has been a key part of Chelsea Women’s success, scoring seven goals last season, and being a nominee for the PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year.

Chelsea are unbeaten in four Barclays FA Women’s Super League games against West Ham, scoring 14 goals while conceding two. West Ham are winless in both of their WSL visits to Chelsea, including an 8-0 defeat in their last trip in February 2020, their biggest loss on the road in the competition.

The Blues have won each of their last 11 WSL home games since September 2019, and a win against the Irons will see them reach a record-breaking 12 successive victories, drawing level with Manchester City.

Hammers’ keeper Mackenzie Arnold has been the busiest goalkeeper in the league this season, making 32 saves in total; two more than any other player.
