Children across the borough are invited to enter their drawings for Colouring in Kingston, a project devised by Kingston University art students Izzi Toovey and Josephine Miller.

Izzi and Josephine, as part of a collaboration with the Community Brain’s SHEDx Growing Ideas in Tolworth initiative, will be digitally transforming the drawings to be displayed on an Instagram gallery @colouringinkingston.

Both students are studying Art Direction at Kingston School of Art. They have previously provided young artists in the borough with a series of drawing challenges. Now, due to the impact of COVID-19, they have adapted their recent project to encourage youngsters to be creative at home.

The idea is to spark a conversation among the community about celebrating young, creative talent.

To get involved, families can visit the Community Brain website here, find out more, download the creative package, and start to create their own artwork.

“We have provided a creative package full of different objects to draw, and we will be transforming these drawings digitally, giving you the opportunity to have your work displayed in your community,” said Izzi.
