Emma Egerton of Little Ginger is used to making an impact with her plant-powered catering company.

Emma, who lives in Surbiton, and who preps most of her vegan food for events in the community kitchen at the Museum of Futures in Brighton Road, obviously struck the right note with a recent addition to her menu – the Rainbow Picnic Box.

“The Rainbow Picnic has proved particularly popular for socially distanced meet-ups and I have just catered a proposal (she said Yes!),” said Emma who started her one-woman business in 2016 after a career in teaching.

Emma said like all other caterers, she had her entire summer bookings – and beyond – disappear due to Covid.

“It has been incredibly challenging keeping my little business afloat and alive so I’ve shaken things up to try to keep my little independent going. I have switched things to a doorstep delivery service and I now offer a range of homemade freezer meals, a vegan BBQ box and the very popular Rainbow Picnic Box!”
