A stunning bedroom version of the Stones’ anthem Honky Tonk Woman is one of the acts in an online variety night organised by Surbiton’s cornerHOUSE arts centre this Friday.

The hour-long show, which includes recordings of poetry, comedy and stage drama, is available from 7.30pm… and it’s free.

All you have to do is reserve a place and you’ll be sent the YouTube link to join the audience, scattered across dozens of homes in the area – and further afield.

As well as Tom and Sophie Edge (from the arts centre’s Out of the Corner players) singing the Rolling Stones, there’s poetry maestro David Loffman reciting Mussels at Whitstable, a nostalgic extract from one of the cornerHOUSE’s famous pantos with Peter Brooker getting a full house going in Wind Up The Willows, and artists Anna Dyson and Terry Cripps describing how they produce their works.

You can watch a scene from one of the arts centre’s OneAct plays, chuckle along to comedians Elaine Blackmore and Jon Long, and hear Emily Lucas perform a stunning version of Love & Affection (feel free to join in the Woo-Hoos in the privacy of your own home).

Visit the website address, on this image, to book a free seat and receive Friday’s link.
