Join the launch of a three-mile scenic walk from Tolworth to Chessington this Bank Holiday Monday (31st).
From 11am to 4pm the Community Brain will be at the Baking Ideas hub next to Tolworth railway station, giving out information about the scenic route which is part of an ongoing wayfinding project with the 121 Collective.
You can pick up a colourful guide with illustrations by local artist Himali Patil full of interesting facts about the wildlife and history along the way, and enjoy some live music and tasty treats pre or post the walk.
The route will take you through Tolworth Court Farm Fields Nature Reserve, on to the Bonesgate Stream, Castle Hill, Horton Country Park and on to Chessington where there is a stunning viewing point (campaigners are trying to protect it www.tinyurl.com/Chessingtonviewpoint) which looks out towards the site of a Roman Villa and the hunting grounds of King Henry VIII, as well as the distant Surrey Hills.
Then you can catch the train back from Chessington South railway station to Tolworth.
Allow up to two hours and wear comfortable shoes. There is also a shorter two-mile option.
